CG bandits rob passenger at Traffic Light

crimeGeorgetown: Two bandits on a CG motorcycle robbed two men in a Hilux pickup Wednesday afternoon while they were stalled at the traffic light in front of the Ministry of Finance, Main Street.

Reports revealed that the men were traced from a city bank and while at the traffic light, the bandits rolled up beside the Hilux pickup and tried opening the door which was locked. One of the bandits then whipped out a handgun and fired a single shot into the window which was shattered; he then proceeded to grab a bag containing cash from the man in passenger seat, before fleeing.

One eyewitness said “all this happened in less than 20 seconds. What was chilling is how easily these guys operate. The guys told me that they just came from the bank. The police arrived about 10 minutes later. That was criminally motivated, that’s our reality. I’m still at awe at what I just witnessed.”

He continued: “Luckily, no one was shot but the two men looked traumatised.”

Commander of ‘A’ Division Clifton Hicken said police are investigating the circumstance of the robbery and will be accessing the CCTV cameras footage in the area.
