CARICOM, IDPs to meet in Georgetown

caricomGeorgetown: The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat will host a meeting of CARICOM and International Development Partners (IDPs) on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 July 2013 at the Third Forum on Donor Coordination.

The interaction which will be hosted at the Princess Hotel, Providence, presents the opportunity for engagement between the CARICOM Secretariat, CARICOM Institutions and IDPs on issues pertaining to regional integration and development.

Specific issues slated for discussion include an overview of regional integration, outcomes of discussion at the recently concluded 34th CARICOM Summit, a regional perspective on the Post 2015 Global Development Agenda, and an overview of the Reform Process currently underway in the Community.

Space has also been created for discussions on CARICOM’s priorities for economic growth and development with particular focus on the recently launched Aid for Trade Strategy zeroing in on Transportation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Energy, Trade Facilitation and Economic Integration. Part of that discussion will pivot around services and tourism, food and nutrition security and agriculture development, and private sector development.
