CARICOM and Mexico sign MOR on Haiti

Bridgetown.

CARICOM Secretary General Erwin LaRocque and Mexico's Minister of Foreign Affairs Patrica Espinoza yesterday signed two memoranda to assist Haiti in areas such as higher education, biotechnology, engineering, nanotechnology, the environment, tourism, natural disasters, trade and energy.

Barbados' Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Maxine McClean told journalists cooperation involving the exchange of academics and graduate students are ideal areas for CARICOM  and Mexico to render assistance to Haiti.

"We  signed cooperation agreements and do not maximize the opportunities therein", McClean said.
