East Bank Demerara : Last night at about 11:15p.m Orwin Whittington, 35 years, of Alberttown, Georgetown, and pillion rider Latoya Thompson, 27 years, of Craig Village, East Bank Demerara (EBD), were on a motor cycle when they collided with a motor vehicle that failed to stop at the traffic lights at Eccles, EBD.
The driver of the motor vehicle fled the scene.
Orwin Whittington and Latoya Thompson received injuries and were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Latoya Thompson was pronounced dead. Orwin Whittington has been admitted.
Investigations are in progress.
