Berbice : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 2:45pm today on Betsy Ground Public Road, Canje, and which resulted in the death of passenger Mahendra Jugisteer, 30 years, of Betsy Ground.
Investigations have revealed that the driver of a motor car in which Mahendra Jugisteer was a passenger, lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle after colliding with a parked tractor/trailer.
Mahendra Jugisteer received injuries and was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
