Canada Visa Fee Changes

VisaGeorgetown: The Government of Canada announced the following Canadian visa fee changes that will take effect from today, February 6, 2014.

Canada Visa Fee Changes

The fee for the temporary resident visa (TRV) program will now be reduced from $150 to $100 for the processing of either a single- or multiple-entry visa.

By harmonizing the single- and multiple-entry visa fees, the visa application process will become simpler for applicants and promote tourism and trade by increasing the number of eligible travellers who are able to make multiple visits to Canada.

Multiple-entry visas make it easier for travellers to visit Canada

Multiple-entry visas can be issued with a maximum validity of 10 years, or up to the expiry date of the passport, whichever is sooner.  Multiple-entry visas allow qualified visitors to enter Canada multiple times for a maximum stay of six months at a time during the validity of the visa.

Payment of fees in Trinidad and Tobago:

  • Option 1 – by direct deposit at any Scotiabank. You will be given a receipt as proof of payment and you must submit the original receipt with your application. Copies will not be accepted.
  • Option 2 – by bank draft drawn in Canadian dollars at any commercial bank. The draft should be made payable to “High Commission of Canada” and must clearly state the currency used.
