Cameron oust Hunte from WICB post

Bridgetown.

Jamaican Dave Cameron is the new president of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) he defeated incumbent president Julian Hunte at the annual meeting of the Board held at the Accra Hotel in Barbados this morning.

In a closely fought contest, Cameron, 42, the former vice president of the WICB received 7 of the 12 votes casted by the 12 shareholder to  defeated Julian Hunte 7-5.

Cameron who nominated by the Jamaica Cricket Assocation and seconded by the Windwards Cricket Board has been a director of the WICB since 2002. and was elevated to the number 2 spot in 2007.

He is a former chairman of the WICB marketing committe and a former treasurer of the Jamaican Cricket.

Cameron is a vice president of fixed income and securities trading at Sterling Asset Management Services Limited in Jamaica. 

His running mate, Emmanuel Nathan of Dominica is the new vice-president. He defeated former West Indies fast bowler and  Barbados Cricket Association president Joel Garner 8-4.

Cameron, 42, is one of youngest person to serve as president of the WICB.
