Businessman shot by armed bandit in central Georgetown – Hospitalised

Georgetown : At about 5pm yesterday two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, entered the Style Palace General Store at King Street, Georgetown, the heart of the capital city,  and demanded cash from businesswoman Rakeema Ally, 60 years, of Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The businesswoman grabbed a cutlass and put up a resistance, while businessman and licensed firearm holder Inshan Ally reached for his firearm. During this the armed perpetrator shot Inshan Ally to his left side and they escaped.

Inshan Ally is receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
