Businessman says it is time for private entities to manage the Crop Over Festival

Bridgetown.

A leading businessman Anthony Hoyos, has suggested that the Government look at setting the mandate for cultural events and let private entities take the risk.

In an interview with Trakker News, Hoyos said this would allow individuals with years of experience to plan the events, and thereby successfully increase the current revenue purported to be received from the festival.

According to Hoyos, a school should be established where people of all levels of entertainment would develop their skills.

"Just as chemistry and accountant majors have faculties which support their course of study, they should also be a special facility where entertainers can go to improve their skill", Hoyos said.

Hoyos an accountant is the owner of several businesses in Barbados among them are the Plantation Garden Theatre.
