Business man shot after returning home from bank-died at hospital

Georgetown :The police are investigating a murder that occurred at about 11:00 today at Crown Dam, Industry, East Coast Demerara, where businessman Dedie Ramjewan, 38 years, was fatally shot during an attack by two men on a motor cycle.

Investigations have revealed that Dedie Ramjewan was returning home in his motor vehicle PLL 1817 after transacting business at a bank in the city, when he was confronted by the two men along Crown Dam, Industry.

During the process Ramjewan was beaten about his head with a motor cycle helmet and shot to his chest. He later succumbed at the Georgetown Hospital.

At the time of this police report, it has not yet been ascertained if anything was taken away from the victim’s vehicle by the perpetrators.
A man has been arrested and a motor cycle seized by the police as the investigations continue.
