Bunting was never at risk

The safety of Minister of National Security Peter Bunting was never at risk during a break-in at a villa in Portland last Saturday night.

In a  statement released a  last night , the  Police High Command stated that during the burglary, cellular phones, a laptop and other personal items were stolen from the premises.

“No individual was attacked, confronted or came in contact with the culprits during the time when the place was burglarized,” said a police spokesman in the release. According to the statement, Bunting was visiting friends at the time.

The release said two men have been arrested and all of the items that were stolen have been recovered.

The police say the men who remain in custody will be interviewed in the presence of their attorney and later charged.
