British politician expresses interest in investing in Guyana

unnamed (18)Georgetown : Councillor Anthony Mc Almont, Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Commission and Employment Scrutiny Commission of Newham, London paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Business at his South Road office.

The visit was to congratulate Minister Dominic Gaskin on his appointment, and to discuss possible areas of investment in Guyana.

During the meeting McAlmont expressed enthusiasm over the diverse areas of investment incentives that are available to domestic and foreign investors in tourism, mining, agri-business, manufacturing, forestry and transportation.

Minister Gaskin pointed out that Guyana is a place to make investments and now is a good time to invest in the country’s economy.

This year, the Ministry of Business plans to aggressively market Guyana through the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest). The agency would also be working to improve its relations and partnerships with other agencies, both locally and internationally, as it continues to facilitate investments in Guyana.
