Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam unveiled Children shelter’s plan

Georgetown : Indian playback singer Sonu Nigam joined President Donald Ramotar and fans for a dinner at last night at Pegasus Hotel.

Nigam will be performing for the first time in Guyana at National Stadium at Providence tonight.

The mega concert is being organised by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha which will be using proceeds from the concert to fund the construction of a children’s shelter in Berbice.

President Ramotar and Nigam unveiled the Children's home plan and the singer extended his gratitude to perform in Guyana. He invited President Ramotar to the show and promised to sing one of the President’s favourite songs.
The Head of State viewed as noble the purpose behind the entertainer’s visit, that of charity to the less fortunate which he said the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has taken upon itself to do. He said it is aligned with the programme for children, especially in education and the other social services.
Tonight concert which will feature three hours of Nigam’s greatest hits coincides with the 174th anniversary of the arrival of East Indian Immigrants to Guyana.
