missingBerbice: After being missing for two days, the body of 26 year old Calvin Osborne called ‘Ras’, of Savannah Park Housing Scheme was fished out of the Canje River Saturday evening.

The body was found at the Canje River Bridge. He was missing since Thursday afternoon. Reports reveal that Osborne visited the river to have a bath after finishing some work at the nearby Nyabinghi Headquarters in Tucber Park, New Amsterdam where he was last seen.

Relatives said the man was a heavy duty operator and only returned to the area early last week and joined his Rastafarian brothers at the Nyabinghi compound. He assisted in cleaning up the compound for an upcoming event.

According to a friend of the dead man, he would usually visit the river and take a bath. However, on the fatal day Osborne was seen slashing up in the water, upon checking he disappeared. Police and relatives formed a search party and his body was eventually found. A Post Mortem examination will be conducted.
