Barbadian Youths keen on entrepreneurship

Bridgetown.

Barbadian teenagers are showing a interest in entrepreneurship, Marica Brandon, executive director of the Barbados Youth Business Trust (BYBT) told Trakker News they have been a significant increase in young people who want to start businesses.

"They are aware that funding to start a business is not likely to be availble to them but there several small grants they can access", Brandon said.

Brandon's view was confirmed by  Ryan Nurse, the Business Development Officer of the Barbados of the Barbados Investment Development Corporation, (BIDC) who told Trakker News, there has been an  increase in both the number of people coming in to the BIDC and asking questions about what to do start a business and those taking the steps to make it happen.

"In addition we are have a schools programme  and what we are finding for sure is more young people who wish to be self employed", Nurse said.
