West Coast Demerara : Goldsmith Radha Krishna Chandra and his family were attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm at Ocean View, Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara.
Chandra’s nephew Preetam Deeroop went out into the yard to the washroom leaving the door to the home open, and upon his return to the house was confronted by the perpetrators who were inside.
The men then held him at gunpoint along with Radha Chandra and his two daughters and took away a quantity of jewellery valued at $6.5 million, $1.5 million, a laptop computer and five cell phones and escaped in a waiting motor car. The motor car was later found abandoned at New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, WCD.
