Bachelor’s and Master’s in sports science on UWI programmes

The Cave Hill Campus of the University of West Indies (UWI) has added a certificate, Bachelor's and Master's in sports science to its curriculm.

Principal of the Cave Hill Campus of the UWI, Sir Hilary Beckles,says this academic component of sports was phase three of  a determined effort of  the campus to be a premier institution of execellence.

Sir Hilary said Cave Hill had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with several top universities in Britain, Europe and North America to pave the way for the successful launching of the programmes, they are Loughborough University and Leeds Metropolitian University in Britian; New Brunswick University  in Canada; George Mason  in the University in United States; Jyvaskyla University in Finland and the Aarhus University in Denmark.

"This is a remarkable alliance of sports expertise now placed at the disposal of Cave Hill Campus, an achievement that recognizes both campus leadership, as well as the Caribbean as the richest source of sports talent in the world", says Sir Hilary.

The programmes will commence next week with the certificate course, the Bachelor's and Master's degrees will be offer from the next academic year.
