Armed bandits shot taxi driver-two arrested

Berbice : Taxi driver Jermaine Rover is today listed stable after undergoing surgery for  gunshot wounds.

Rover of  No. 78 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was robbed and shot by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Rover was hired by the men to be taken to Molesen Creek. On arrival one of the men shot him to his face and right hand. They relieved him of his motor car HB 3123 and escaped.

 Jermaine Rover was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted.

 The car was later found abandoned at Plantation Foulis, West Coast Berbice.

 Two persons are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
