Armed bandits robed Popeye’s Vlissengen Road branch $1.1M

Georgetown : At around 10:20pm yesterday, two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the Popeye’s Restaurant at Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, where they held up the supervisor Mahendra Persaud.
The perpetrators took away a total of $1.1M and escaped.

No one has since been apprehended as police investigations are in progress.

Yesterday also the restaurant franchise opened doors at their new location at Camp Street, Georgetown.
