APNU meets GIT on Islamic awareness week

Georgetown : A visiting delegation of five members from the Guyana Islamic Trust visited and held discussions with the members of A Partnership for (National Unity APNU) today at Congress Place Sophia.

APNU delegation consisted of Leader of the Opposition Brigadier David Granger M.P., Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine M.P., Opposition Chief Whip Ms. Amna All,y M.P. and Mr. Keith Scott M.P.

 Members of the visiting Guyana Islamic Trust delegation hailed from Guyana, Illinois, Chicago and Nigeria. The deliberations centered on “perfecting mankind’s noble character and making inroads to refine it”. The ability to enjoy good and forbid evil was a common objective of both groups.

 Brigadier Granger acknowledged the historical contribution of the Islamic community to Guyana’s development and in particular, of the Guyana Islamic Trust’s role in education. APNU and Guyana Islamic Trust committed to continued cordial relations and support in the interest of the people of Guyana.

 The visitors left on a high note with a resolve to improve the lives of people in our country.
