Antiquities Bill postponed

Bridgetown.

Debate on the  controversial Antiquities Bill was postponed in the Senate this aftenoon after it was criticizes by Opposition and Independent Senators.

Leader of the Senate, Senator Maxine McClean moved the Bill be postponed after Independent Senators, Dr Frances Chandler and Professor Velma Newton described the Bill as an oppressive used of state power.

Senator Santia Bradshaw of the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP)  indicated the  Opposition was not supporting  the Bill.
