Airplane crash leaves three critical in interior

Georgetown: A United States-registered light aircraft crashed on takeoff from an airstrip at the remote interior mining location of Arau airstrip, Region Seven, according to reports.

Three persons were critically injured Tuesday morning.

A senior official of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said the incident occurred about 11:14 AM. The aircraft is a PA 32 Piper bearing registration number N87619

The pilot was identified as Guyanese Bernard Singh.
