Georgetown: The Alliance for Change supported the minority PPP/C Government for funding allocated to the newly created Office of the First Lady with an allocation of $10M while A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) refused to support the estimates.
Minister of Education Priya Manickchand voiced her displeasure with APNU shadow Minister of Finance Greenidge’s attempt to belittle the office. A vibrant activist and champion of women’s rights in Guyana, the Minister subsequently warned APNU’s women members of the danger of not supporting other women.
