AFC inside rumbling settled

Georgetown : The recent public spat between two leading members of the Alliance For Change (AFC) in Region Six, Dr.Verasammy Ramayya and Mr.Haseef Yussuf was the cause of an internal party investigation conducted by its General Secretary, Mr Sixtus Edwards and Executive Member Dr.Sewnauth Punalall.

According to a press statement from the party, the circumstances that led to the differences were fully explored and determined by the investigation team, which then reported its findings to the National Executive Committee of the Party.    

On Saturday, June 16, 2012, the National Executive Committee examined the report and supported the recommendations to bring this spat between to an amicable end.

An evaluation of this matter revealed that the differences were fuelled by misunderstanding and miscommunication.

A genuine desire by both parties to bring closure to this matter combined with astute leadership that encourages a climate of brotherhood within the Party contributed in a significant way to the amicable closure of this matter.

The National Executive urged that there be an acceptance by members that respectful differences between members ought not to be allowed to disintegrate into ugly personal hostilities and antagonisms. It was noted that life in an organization growing as rapidly as the AFC will see eruptions occasionally .
