AFC in election to win and craft new political culture- slams Granger comments

Georgetown : The Alliance For Change has raised disappointment at APNU’s Presidential hopeful Mr. David Granger as contained in a Kaieteur News report entitled “AFC lacks support to secure the presidency….” in the July 4th  edition.

Mr. Granger asks “The AFC lacks popular support… So the question must be asked: If you are not in it to win it, then why are you in it?”

The AFC claims that Granger seems to be making the point that without ethnic support a party cannot win an election in Guyana. The AFC is 100% committed to defeating the current corrupt and incompetent PPP government in the upcoming elections in a three-way race.

The AFC informs Granger that the AFC is “in it” to serve as an alternative to the destructive and racial politics of the PPP and PNC. The AFC is “in it” to fashion, craft and sculpt a new political culture premised on reason and not race. The party believes that it is this principled and revolutionary stance which will be endorsed by electorate later this year.
