Acting Chancellor, Chief Justice sworn in

Georgetown: President David Granger, Tuesday administered the Oath of Office to Justice Yonette Cummings-Edwards and Justice Roxane George-Wiltshire as they were sworn in to perform the functions of Acting Chancellor and Acting Chief Justice, respectively. Prior to her appointment, Justice Cummings-Edwards acted as the Chief Justice. Former Chancellor of the Judiciary, Carl Singh officially demitted office on February 23, 2017, paving the way for the new appointments. The President met with Mr Jagdeo and consulted on the appointments, as is constitutionally required. Justice Roxanne George-Wiltshire will replace her as the new Acting Chief Justice.
