Major breakthrough in cruise market

Pullman Tour Cruises, a European operator will be docking its ship Horizon at the Bridgetown Port for the 2013/2014 season and the Disney Cruise Lines' Disney Magic will include Barbados in its ports of call in the 2014 season.

  According to Martin Ince, the chief executive officer of Foster and Ince Cruise Service Inc, this is  a major breakthrough in the international cruise market that is expected to result in a significant increase in passenger arrivals over the next two seasons.

He told journatists the Pullman Tour Cruises deal represented a significant inroad into the French market, specifically, as well as the opening-up of the wider European market.

In the case of Disney, Ince said Barbados would gain valuable exposure through its inclusion in Disney’s marketing.
