$41.4M for City’s restoration project

LuncheonGeorgetown: Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon, at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Office of the President said that the Government of Guyana was spending $41.4M on the City’s clean-up campaign instead of $56M as was previously announced. He explained that this error occurred because the sum of $13M which was allocated for the management of outfalls was counted twice.

The HPS had stated that this expenditure would finance activities to enhance the drainage system within Georgetown and the outfalls, weeding, garbage collection and disposal and mobile mechanical drainage of flood impacted areas.
