28 graduate from Texila American University

texilaGeorgetown: Amid pomp and ceremony, twenty doctors of medicine, seven dentistry surgeons and one nurse graduated from the Texila American University on Wednesday evening at the Princess International Hotel, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Chinedu Joseph Asigebu of Nigeria was crowned the best graduating student while George Scaria of Indian National was the second best graduating student.

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, who delivered the feature address during the ceremony, congratulated the class of 2015. He underscored the importance of human development towards nation building and on that noted, encouraged the graduating class to stay and develop Guyana.

Texila American University (TAU), one of the best Caribbean Medical Schools is located in Guyana, the only English-speaking country in South America. TAU offers Health Science programs with a high level of professionalism and exactness.

Some of the programmes offered by the university include the Doctor of Medicine Programme (MD) (four years for students with 90 college level credits), the Pre-med Programme + MD Programmes (in a total of 5.5 years for high school graduates), the Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (four years) and the RN-BSN (two years) Advanced Standing Nursing Programmes.
