San Rapheal: An 11-year-old girl has lost her life tragically in a freak accident in San Raphael. Police investigating the death have confimred that 11-year-old Jessica St John of Manuel Congo Village, San Raphael had rushed outside of her home to greet her mother who was returning from work around 11.30 pm.
In her eagerness and excitement to open the gate for the car being driven by her mother police say it appears that the gate got loose from the railings upon which it was rolling, resulting in the gate falling upon the child.
Jessica, a student of the Arima Girls RC School was rushed by her mother to the Arima Medical Facility but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The child's mother is a police officer attached to the Arouca Community Policing Unit.
