11 Guyanese for surgeries in India

Georgetown : A group of 11 patients from Guyana will be travelling to Max Hospital in India on February 15th for medical treatment which is not available in Guyana.  The group will be staying in Toronto for two nights where they will attend a fundraising event before travelling on to Delhi.

The patients are Johnaton Sukhu, Alvin Ramkumar, Peter Charles, Annmarie Gomes, Johnaton Newton, Kumarie Khuserran, Tajpaul Persaud, Tana Nandalal, Adrian Persaud, Ciara Stanislaus.

 The group will be receiving treatment for a variety of medical conditions.  Five patients will undergo open heart surgery, two eye surgeries, the others are brain, liver, kidney ailment and skin disease. 

The group will be in Delhi for three weeks and will be treated at Max Super Speciality Hospital.  This mission is made possible through the initiative of Three Rivers Kids Foundation, a registered charitable organization in Toronto, Canada.

The projected cost for this mission is US$166,500, including return airfares for all the patients and their mothers.

Since 2005, three Rivers Kids Foundation has successfully help over 100 patients from Guyana obtain life saving surgery in India.
