Support and relief efforts continue today for the residents of Manzanilla Village, in Mayaro who were affected by the flash flooding over the past week. Torrential rain caused major damages to property and homes. The Manzanilla road is impassable, as the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment came out in full force assisting residents in whatever way they can.

The authorities are asking residents to bear with them as they assess the damages and start reconstruction of the roadway. They gave a time period of two weeks to facilitate the repairs, providing the water subsides. Residents who are stranded refuse to leave their homes saying that they would make amends and try to pick up the pieces. Those with tractors and other heavy machinery are assisting others with transportation and removal of animals to safer grounds. As the residents try to piece their lives back together the rain continues to fall.manzan
