Berbice : The police detained a mini bus driver after a fatal accident that occurred at about 11am today on the main road at Bloomfield, Corentyne, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Saleena Anthony, 10 years, of Bloomfield.
A police statement confirms that Saleena Anthony was riding a bicycle when it is alleged that she rode out of an access road unto the main road and into the path of a mini-bus. She was struck down and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where she succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
