The second CARICOM-Mexico Summit will be held in Barbados at the Barbados Hilton on May 21, President of Mexico Felipe Calderon will lead a delegation to the one day summit.
Prime Minister of Barbados Freundel Stuart, President Calderon and the Chairman of CARICOM, President of Suriname Desi Bouterse will address the opening ceremony.
All the Heads of Government from the 15 CARICOM countries are expected to attend the summit, they will discuss several issues including tourism,investment and technical cooperation.
President Calderon and the regional leaders will hold discussions on exchanging ideals on the Inter American System; and the identification of means by which CARICOM and Mexico could collaborate in hemispheric multilateral fora such as the Organisation of American States and the recently constituted Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
The summit will be preceded by a meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on May 20.
