Georgetown: The Ministry of Education Wednesday announced the results of the 2020 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination as well as the 2019-2020 (Two year) and the 2020 (single year) Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).

Below are the names of the country’s top performers for each examination as well as the names of students that will receive CXC’s regional awards for outstanding performance in the July/August 2020 examinations.

These are top 3 performers for the two years’ period, 2019 – 2020, as determined by CXC.

Students with Most Grade Ones for 2020 (Single Year)
Several candidates’ recorded outstanding performance at the (2020) Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination. The top performers include:
- The Top Student: Naomi Cambridge of St Rose’s High who secured Grade One passes in nine (9) units and a Grade 2 in one unit.
- Shelock Langevine Jr. of St Stanislaus College secured Grade One passes in eight (😎 units and Grade 2 passes in five (5) units.
- Donnelle Pyle, also of St Stanislaus College secured 7 Grade One passes, 1 Grade Two and 2 Grade Threes.
- Zane Ramotar of Queen’s College who secured 7 Grade Ones and 1 Grade Two in eight units written
- Abdul Subhan of St Stanislaus College secured 6 Grade One passes and 2 Grade Two passes in eight units written
There were also very notable and commendable performances from:

The Ministry of Education has been informed by CXC that the students named below will receive awards for outstanding performance in the July/August 2020 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.

- Anthony Sukra – New Amsterdam Secondary School

CAPE
- Zane Ramotar

– Most Outstanding in Natural Sciences
This year Guyana topped the entire Caribbean region at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE). That top performer was Zane Ramotar from Queen’s College.
Guyana also topped the region also at the level of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. This top performer was Bhedesh Persaud also from Queen’s College.
Other regional awards scored include: Best performer in Natural Sciences (CAPE) – Zane Ramotar from Queen’s College; Best student in the Technical Vocation area (CSEC)- Anthony Sukra from the New Amsterdam Secondary; the Best Business Performer (CSEC)- Niron Seokenandan from the St. Roses High School and, the Best Science Student (CSEC)- Bhedesh Persaud from Queen’s College.
