Tropical storm warning- Heavy rainfall expected over the next 72 hours
The Government of Guyana has officially issued a warning bulleting for Guyanese to take the necessary precautionary measures over the next 72 hours, since the Hydrometrological office says there is a tropical storm that will pass over the Northern part of the country.

Mixed reaction as Human Service Minister dismisses workers found culpable in Neesa Gopaul’s case
Minister Priya Manickchand revelations about the findings of an investigation into Human Services Ministry’s handling of Neesa Gopaul’s case and her subsequent action to dismiss two case workers are getting a lot of attention by the public this morning. As was expected opposition party members continue to call for her dismissal saying that the blame should be shared equally and that the Minister is as much responsible for failing the 16 year old as the two fired staff members.
Body seen floating in the Essequibo river
Persons travelling the Bartica/Parika route have notice an object this morning which looks like a human body floating in the Essequibo river in the vicinity of Sampa. At the time of this report, no one has attempted to investigate, but the police at Bartica were notified.

GPHC maternal death- post mortem inconclusive, samples taken for testing
Spokesperson for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Ms Proctor said an official report has not yet been submitted in connection with the death of Nurse Charlene Amsterdam. She said the hospital’s management is concern with a statement published in one of the daily newspaper which stated, “A close relative said that no one from the ministry or the hospital has even contacted the family to express their sympathy”. With regards to the hospital staff, it must be said that this statement is completely untrue.
Two year old locked in car dies from sun stroke-Pathologist
Ivelaw Whittaker, police press officer this afternoon issued a statement that a post mortem examination was today performed on the body of Radian Wilson by Pathologist
Dr. Nehaul Singh gave the cause of death as a sun stroke.
The two-year- old of El Dorado Village, WCB, succumbed after he was left in a locked car onOctober 25, 2010.His mother has since been detained while the police are investigation the incedent.
