Tomas’s tail damages Tobago schools
The Speyside High School and Roxborough Secondary School will both remain closed for the rest of the week, Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Orville London said yesterday. The two schools were damaged after a feeder band of Hurricane Tomas hit the sister isle yesterday. London however said assessment of the damage has showed that the island was not as badly damaged as first thought. Landslides and flooding were reported yesterday.

Khemraj Ramjattan and Micheal Carrington, an AFC executive member, will now wait on the outcome of a vote to formally announce the Presidential candidate of the party even after a huge endorsement today by AFC leader Raphael Trotman.
Angry relatives call for reckless driver to face the full weight of the law.
Today relatives of the 12 persons who perished in the worst accident in the ancient county are calling for the truck driver to face maximum penality for his recklessness. They told reporters that he should be jailed for life for causing the death of so many. Overwhelmed with sorrow, the father of 19 year old Nazaidin Mohammed whose body was broken like many others who met a gruesome end said that the driver made the worst mistake of his life and that he can never live with the guilt of being responsible for the death of all those persons.

Four Queen’s college staff to face disciplinary action – Neesa Gopaul investigation
The ministry of Education’s report on the Nessa Gopaul death found the Head Mistress, Deputy Head Mistress and two other staff of Queen’s College, the school Gopaul attended failed to act in the best interest of the student.
