$192.8 million to be spent in the Public Works and Health sectors at Berbice
East Berbice, Region Six: Due to the recent spring tides, the government has moved to ease the problems of flooding at Canjie, Berbice by constructing a $79 million greenheart revetment at Lochabar area.
This was announced by Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon after Cabinet met this week.
In that same region (six), $15 million will be spent to rehabilitate the Skeldon Hospital and an additional $20 million for the procurement of supply of breast milk substitute.

Cops crackdown on firecrackers as they raid schools- fights break out
The Police on midday Thursday were summoned to the St.Winefred secondary school in Garnett st.Kitty after a serious fight broke out over illegal firecrackers. When TrakkerNews arrived at the scene the Police were about to pursue a student who was seen running away after starting a fight which left another student injured. However if that was not serious enough, the fight resulted from firecrackers which Police are constantly cracking down on. Almost everyday they respond to reports of people shooting off the illegal item.
Man found dead under Mysterious circumstances
The lifeless body of a 23 year old man was discovered by his reputed wife early this morning at their home in c field Sophia. Dead is O’Brian Henry who was found hanging from a rafter in a house the couple shared. Shanicka Dow, the dead man’s reputed wife of two years explained that they were having a few arguments recently which stemmed from her coming home late one night from work. The distraught mother of a 2 year old told TrakkerNews that she spoke to Brian last evening and he held unto her when she started to scream, He then dealt her several blows.
