120 PTA members protested Teacher’s Service Commission.
Brickdam, Georgetown – This morning, members of the parent teachers’ association of the Wismar Christianburg secondary school, picketed the headquarters of the Teachers’ Service Commision on Brickdam in solidarity of the school’s headmaster Cleveland Thomas.

Fire of unknown origin destroys upper flat in Eccles
Eccles, East Bank Demerara – Two girls in their mid 20’s, are now in tears after losing everything in a house they shared at 129 BB first street Eccles. The entire inner section of the top flat was gutted by fire of unknown origin. Mellissa Jordan and her roommate Kendra Arthurs were too distraught to speak to TrakkerNews. The fire started from the eastern section of the house in a bedroom. Public spirited neighbors tried to save what they could since no one was at home when the fire started.They only managed to save a chair set and a dvd player.

Sophia man electrocuted
Sophia, Georgetown- Lesly Clarkson, an Afro Guyanese in his late 30’s was found dead in ‘D’ field Sophia this morning.From all appearances he seemed to have been electrocuted since a live wire was found next to his body. Sophia is a community with ongoing problems of illegal connections which over the years has resulted in many deaths. The Guyana Power and Light company is always carrying out operations in the area removing illegal connections, since it poses great risks and result in millions of dollars in losses to the company.
