In observance of International Day against Women, Minister of Human Services and Social Security Priya Manickchand said there will be a signing of a Skeldon Declaration in number 68 village, Corentyne, Berbice. This she said aims to encourage men to pledge their commitment to end violence against women.
The Minister made this disclosure during a panel discussion on the National Communications Network last evening which kicked off the Ministry’s weeklong activities in observance of international day against domestic violence.
The Ministry also plan to open a White Zone, providing a place where victims of violence can get help if abused and threatened.
