Brickdam, Georgetown – This morning, members of the parent teachers’ association of the Wismar Christianburg secondary school, picketed the headquarters of the Teachers’ Service Commision on Brickdam in solidarity of the school’s headmaster Cleveland Thomas.
The 120 members staged a peaceful demonstration ahead of a meeting at the TSC at which the headmaster was summoned, after he failed to promote 32 students from form 1 to 2 based on the criteria of automatic promotion. The headmaster took the decision to deny promotion since he felt that the students did not meet the requirements. The PTA felt that the Headmaster made the right move and is supporting him, hoping the commission clears him of any perceived wrong decision.
