Sophia man electrocuted

Sophia,  Georgetown- Lesly Clarkson, an Afro Guyanese in his late 30’s was found dead in ‘D’ field Sophia this morning.From all appearances he seemed to have been electrocuted since a live wire was found next to his body. Sophia is a community with ongoing problems of illegal connections which over the years has resulted in many deaths. The Guyana Power and Light company is always carrying out operations in the area removing illegal connections, since it poses great risks and result in millions of dollars in losses to the company. Reports are that the man’s cow was also electrocuted a few days ago. The power company reported during it’s various operations that people use all means and inferior wires like telephone cables to steal electricity. Police are investigating the matter.
