Five days, three armed robberies as bandits go on rampage across the country, even with heightened security by the Guyana Police Force. The attacks occurred at Chateau Margot on the East Coast, in which businessman Dennis Ramah and a criminal were killed and others injured, Thursday morning at East Canjie Berbice, a taxi driver and his wife beaten by two masked bandits who stole cash and jewelery amounting to $125,000, Thursday night three armed bandits invaded the home of a family in Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara, making off with cash and jewelery after terrorizing their victims. According to a relative of the victims attacked last evening, "the Police is unable to deal with this problem, because every time you call the Providence Police outpost, the phone always busy or it don’t work". TrakkerNews today tried to get a comment from Crime Chief Seelall Persaud on the spate of armed robberies, but to no avail. We will continue to try and get an exclusive from him on this escalating situation. Concerned citizens are worried that these attacks will dampened the holiday season, forcing many to rethink their spending and shopping.
