Five days, three armed robberies as bandits go on rampage across the country, even with heightened security by the Guyana Police Force. The attacks occurred at Chateau Margot, on the East Coast in which a businessman and a criminal were killed and others injured, Thursday morning at East Canjie, Berbice, a taxi driver and his wife beaten by two masked bandits, who stole cash and jewellery amounting to $125,000, Thursday night, three armed bandits invaded the home of a family at Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara, making off with cash and jewellery after terrorizing their victims. According to a victim of last night’s attack, "the Police is unable to deal with this problem, because whenever you call the Providence Police station, it always busy or it don’t work". Trakkernews today tried to get a comment from Crime Chief Seelall Persaud on the spate of armed robberies, but to no avail. We will continue to try and get an exclusive from him on this serious problem. Concerned citizens are worried that these attacks will dampened the holiday season, forcing many rethink their spending and shopping for the season
