Houston,Georgetown – President Bharrat Jagdeo told a gathering last evening at the lighting of the annual Houston Christmas Tree, to take personal care and strive for hope, pride and progress during the festive season and the new year. The President called for collective action against racism, bigotry and domestic violence in society, pointing to the most horrific deaths of women and children for this year.
The 40 feet Christmas tree stands at an intersection at Houston, a point where people travelling along the East Bank of Demerara to enter the country’s capital, Georgetown coming from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
