The Government of the Argentine Republic to Re-open Embassy in Georgetown

Georgetown – The Government of Guyana has approved of the re-establishment of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Georgetown. This approval follows a request by the Government of the Argentine Republic for the re-opening of its Mission here in Guyana.

Argentina had first established an Embassy in Georgetown in 1980, which was maintained until its closure in 1991.
At the bilateral level, there would be the opportunity for forging links between the private sectors of both countries, as well as collaboration in the areas such as education and agriculture. Argentina, a member of the G20 group of countries, is the fourth South American country which will now have an Embassy in Guyana.
