East Coast Demerara: The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 10:30pm yesterday Tuesday November 16, 2010, on the Rupert Craig Highway, Georgetown, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Leroy Benjamin, 44 years of South Vryheid’s Lust, ECD. Investigations revealed that the driver of mini-bus BHH 4522 was proceeding along the roadway when it is alleged that Leroy Benjamin attempted to cross the road and was struck down. He was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
