Caribbean tourism hurting

Tourism Minister Dr Rupert Griffith says the recently increased  Air Passenger Duty (APD) in the United Kingdom is crippling the Caribbean’s already battered tourism industry.
In an attempt to boost revenue the UK increased the APD by 55 per cent. This has increased the cost of plane tickets for persons travelling to the Caribbean fro the UK by as much as £150.
Griffith said he has approached the UK Government to "rescind" the tax.
