The Police on midday Thursday were summoned to the St.Winefred secondary school in Garnett st.Kitty after a serious fight broke out over illegal firecrackers. When TrakkerNews arrived at the scene the Police were about to pursue a student who was seen running away after starting a fight which left another student injured. However if that was not serious enough, the fight resulted from firecrackers which Police are constantly cracking down on. Almost everyday they respond to reports of people shooting off the illegal item. The students of this particular school are constantly shooting off the bombs as the Police seemed helpless to get the problem under control. While dangerous the firecrackers can send mixed signals if a shooting is taking place. At this time of the year people often pay no heed to these sounds. TrakkerNews a few days ago, witnessed a serious disregard for the law, when a group of school boys were throwing firebombs in the busy stabroek market area in full view of traffic officers.
