Black Tuesday reloaded; public officers march again

President of the Public Sevice Association (PSA), Watson Duke, says about 20,000 public officers are expected to join today’s ‘black Tuesday reloaded’ march as they step up their protest against Government’s wage offer. However, Finance Minister Winston Dookeran says he would not bow to pressure. The PSA is protesting a one per cent wage offer by the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO). Duke is saying that only a double digit offer will do. Dookeran has warned that this would be catastrophic to the economy.
